Haikel
S. Alhichri received the B.Sc. (High Hons) and M.Sc. degrees in
Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He
then received his Ph.D. degree in Systems’ Design Engineering from
the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has received many awards and
scholarships in recognition of his high academic achievements. Dr.
Hichri has more than ten (10) years of academic and industrial
experience in the computer science field in Canada, United Arab
Emirates, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
From 2003 to 2007, he has joined The American University in Dubai,
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as an Assistant Professor of
Information Technology. From 2007 to 2010, he has worked with
Sharesoft Solutions FZ LLC in Dubai, UAE as a product manager and
business development director. Since March 2010, he has joined the
college of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University
(KSU), Riyadh, KSA, where he is now an associate professor of
Computer Engineering and a research member of the Advanced Lab for
Intelligent Systems Research (ALISR.SA). He has also served as a
scientific advisor to the innovation center at KSU
(innovation.ksu.edu.sa) from 2010 to 2013. His research interests
are in remote sensing, pattern recognition, and machine
intelligence. Dr. Hichri is a member of the Institute of Electrical
and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
